PCB Fabrication FAQ

This page answers common questions about PCB fabrication, quotation, design file submission, pricing, lead time, and shipping. It is designed as a starting point for new and returning customers.

Some topics have their own dedicated help pages for more detailed explanation.

Common PCB Fabrication Questions

1. What is PCB fabrication?

PCB fabrication is the manufacturing process of producing a printed circuit board from customer design data. It usually includes board imaging, etching, drilling, plating, solder mask, silkscreen, surface finish, electrical testing, and final inspection.

2. What types of PCB orders do you support?

We support common PCB fabrication needs such as prototype orders, repeat production orders, and standard rigid PCB manufacturing. Depending on the project, customers may also request special specifications, layer counts, thickness options, copper weight options, and delivery schedules.

3. How do I get a PCB quote?

Customers can start with the online quotation process on our website. After entering the required board specifications, the system generates a quotation based on the selected parameters. If you need support, you may also contact us directly for assistance.

4. How do I submit PCB design files?

Our website currently does not provide a direct online file upload function for customer design files. Please send your design files by email attachment after receiving your quote or placing your order.

5. What files should I prepare for PCB fabrication?

In most cases, customers should prepare complete manufacturing data, such as:

  • Gerber files
  • NC drill files
  • Readme notes if needed
  • PDF drawing if available
  • One ZIP package containing all production files

Clear and complete file packages help reduce review time and avoid production delays.

6. What affects PCB price?

PCB price is usually affected by board size, quantity, layer count, material type, copper weight, solder mask requirements, surface finish, delivery speed, and other special manufacturing requirements.

7. What affects lead time?

Lead time is influenced by production complexity, order quantity, material availability, engineering review, holiday schedules, and shipping arrangements. More complex PCB projects generally require more review and manufacturing time.

8. Are your PCB boards manufactured in China?

Yes. PCB fabrication is arranged through manufacturing resources in China, while customer communication and order coordination are handled for U.S. customers.

9. How are finished boards shipped?

Orders are typically shipped by international express carriers such as FedEx, UPS, or DHL, depending on the shipping arrangement and destination requirements.

10. What should I include when contacting support?

To help us respond faster, please include your Quote ID, company name, PCB name, and a clear description of your question or requested change. If your question is related to production files, please attach the relevant design package.

11. Can I place an order before sending files?

In many cases, customers first obtain a quote and place the order, then send the design files by email attachment. To avoid delays, it is best to send the correct file package as soon as possible after placing the order.

12. Where can I find more detailed help pages?

Please visit our FAQ section for topic-based help pages covering file submission, ordering and payments, pricing factors, and holiday schedule notices.
