What Is Halogen-Free PCB?

Halogen-Free PCB Material

Halogen-free PCB materials follow JPCA-ES-01-2003:
Chlorine = 0.09% (wt)
Bromine = 0.09% (wt)
RoHS-compliant and non-toxic during soldering.

We have been producing halogen-free PCBs since 2002 for global OEM customers.

Flame-Retardant Principle

P/N-based flame retardants form a carbon barrier that blocks oxygen and heat:

  • Phosphorus promotes carbonization
  • Nitrogen increases flame-retardant efficiency
  • No toxic halogen gases

Material Characteristics

Laminate stack

Shengyi & Nan Ya halogen-free laminates

Lower Moisture Absorption

Better dimensional stability and CAF resistance.

High Electrical Reliability

Higher insulation & dielectric strength.

Improved Thermal Stability

Higher Tg and lower CTE for solder durability.

Halogen-Free PCB Standards

We follow established eco-safety standards:

  • JPCA-ES-01
  • IEC 61249-2-21
  • RoHS / REACH compliant materials
  • UL94-V0 flame-retardant laminate

Qualified for telecom, EV, industrial and consumer electronics.
